Hi,
I am currently involved in the installation of IBM Sametime version 9.0 (following the “Zero-to-Hero” document’s instructions – p.333 onwards) on several Virtual machines and have come across a snag (ST Proxy server test of connectivity to ST Community server fails via browser interface) and wonder if anyone can help.
1- I proceeded to the installation of the Proxy server on a separate clean VM and, as I reached the point where I am supposed to validate the installation against the WAS the instruction then tells me that it is required to install Sametime v9.0 on top of an existing WAS v 8.5.5 (a few pages too late). An error message “Could not find a valid WAS installed at this location” would be displayed when clicking on the “Validate” button as displayed in slide of p. 334. My reaction was to blow the VM and go to the VM that has the current WAS installed (as per previous instructions followed).
2- Once on the WAS Virtual Machine and having done a successful installation I proceeded to perform a test of my installation of the ST Proxy Server and the connection to the Community server as per instructions on p.348 (“Open a Browser window and navigate to the URL …” where the Community server is located) the Browser displays an error message “Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage”.
Has anyone experienced this ? How can I rectify this ?
